2009 Round Hill Oak Free Chardonnay
The bright fruit characteristics of this wine were kept fresh by a long, slow and cold fermentation, followed by aging in stainless steel tanks. The color is pale gold with pure, clean fruit aromas of fresh pears, pineapple, and lemon curd. Refreshing acidity with flavors of asian pear, green apple and meyer lemon. Good weight on the palate. A rich, full-bodied wine with fruity finish that softly lingers.
Food Recommendation:
Our Oak-Free Chardonnay is an excellent choice to pair alongside grilled swordfish with salsa, fettuccine alfredo or roast pork loin with an apple butter sauce.
Winemaker's Notes:
The 2009 harvest was excellent across California. Cool, mild weather along the north coast allowed for extended hang-time, good maturity of the grapes and intense flavors.
